Mount Pleasant, TX (October 26, 2021): Smarty announces new partnership with the Tarleton State University Rodeo Team in Stephenville, TX. Born out of a desire to encourage younger rodeo athletes to be champions inside and out of the arena, it only seemed natural that Smarty would align themselves with one of the best collegiate rodeo teams in the country.

The Tarleton Rodeo Association has been part of a winning tradition since 1947. Tarleton teams have won seven national championship titles and 28 individual national championships. Today, Tarleton has one of the largest teams in the nation with 147 card holding student members in 2021-2022.

Just recently, Tarleton State University Rodeo moved locations to the Downunder Horsemanship Ranch located in the heart of the Cowboy Capital. The establishment has 20 stalls, a covered arena, fully equipped gym, and much more.

“It’s always a thrill when the rodeo team gets to partner with companies like Smarty that offer more than just roping machines to the rodeo industry.” said Mark Eakin, Tarleton’s Head Rodeo Coach. “We try to do everything with a champion’s mindset, and so does Smarty, which is why we work great together.”

Mark has carried Tarleton’s Rodeo Team to one national championship and 11 individual championships during his time as head coach. Brittany Stewart, CNFR qualifier, and Isaac Diaz, NFR qualifier, are assistant coaches for the Tarleton State Rodeo Team.

The announcement comes just days before the famous Halloween Rodeo that Tarleton hosts every year. This year’s Halloween rodeo will be at Tarleton Rodeo’s new facility at Downunder Horsemanship.
